Thornaby Cricket Club

Thornaby Cricket Club is an established, historic club, situated on Acklam Road, Thornaby. Founded in 1896, the club has not only established itself in Thornaby, as the major sporting establishment, but is renowned and respected across the North East in sporting and in particular cricketing circles.

The Club have regained English Cricket Board Clubmark Accreditation status, a prestigious, nationally accepted accreditation. Cricket Clubs are required to present evidence and demonstrate implementation across four different themes, culminating in the production of a Club Development Plan, and demonstrating the commitment to safe guard children when enjoying sport.

We currently employ a Sri Lankan overseas profession called tharindu rathnayake who is currently second leading wicket taker in the first class cricket leagues.

We establish ourselves as a premier league club who play in arguably one of the strongest ECB premier leagues in the U.K.
