As an overview on our club I offer a bit of history and more importantly a snap shot of the future.

Mitcham is one of the oldest Cricket Clubs in Victoria having been formed in 1883, we currently play at Walker Park Nunawading where we have been for around 70 years.
We have won more 1st Division Flags than any other team and have only in the last 3 years been out of division one.

Our recent history has not been as grand as our earlier history, we were relegated from division one 3 years ago, after close to a decade of struggling to stay there
Most of this struggle came on the back of a 10 year gap in our junior development where at times we only had 1 junior team which created major hole we were unable to fill.

We now have 9 junior teams

Our focus of the last 5 years has been development of junior players, and offering senior players opportunities to improve.
Our Junior Development has been lead by Ian “Dutchy” Holland as Junior Development Coach,(Ringwood CC, Victoria & Hampshire UK) from which we are starting to see major benefits.
Dutchy will not be continuing next year due to other commitments , but we have signed a Premier Cricket Captain to replace him, which will be announced in the next few days.

Our Senior club consists of 6 teams spread across the comp with 3 - 80 over teams, 1 - 65 over team & 2 - split innings teams.
We believe this gives us a great transition path for players working through the ranks, especially our younger players.

2016/17 was an extra difficult year for the club, with our ground being renovated we had no home ground and our training was badly effected.
Added to this our Capt/Coach (Adam Hardy) was diagnosed with Cancer in Mid October, sidelining him for several weeks, we also had 2 Life Members & an U16 player fighting cancer as well

It was a difficult year.

2017/18 promises to be better year for us, with Adam well and the ground looking great.
