Ashton On Mersey Cricket Club

Ashton on Mersey CC is an ambitious yet friendly cricket club based in the trendy Sale area of Manchester, just a short tram ride into the city centre and to Manchester Airport.

We have five senior sides, with our 1st XI playing in Division Two of the prestigious Cheshire County Cricket League, having been promoted in 2019. We have a diverse 1st XI in terms of age, experience and background, with senior players mixing with talented youngsters.

We have a growing Junior sections, with over 100 junior cricketers training on Friday evenings each week and increasing number of junior players filtering into our senior sides on Saturday and Sundays, which we are very proud of.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed overseas player for 2023, who will not only help drive the performances of our 1st XI forward but also take an active role in the development of our Juniors through coaching. From a playing perspective, we are looking for a genuine all rounder who can make significant contributions with both bat and ball.

In exchange, we will provide flights and accommodation for the season, as well as the opportunity for paid work at the club. We also have a proven track record of providing a spring board for players to go on and play at a higher level, either in the UK or back home, including Peter Hatzoglou who has gone on to play in the BBL and The Hundred, following a successful summer with us in 2019.

We will require references for any prospective overseas and the opportunity to speak to an established member of your current club (Chairman, 1st XI captain etc).
