About the Club;

The South Launceston Cricket Club, established in 1907, plays in the Northern Tasmanian Cricket Association and has a rich history steeped in culture and success.

The club fields 4 senior men’s teams, a senior women’s team and up to 7 junior teams. The First Grade team is involved in three different formats and competitions (Two day, One day & T20 cricket) played on turf wickets.

With a reputation as a local leader both on and off the field, the SLCC have claimed 3 first grade men’s titles in the last decade and 4 senior women’s titles in a row since the commencement of the women’s competition (2015/16 – 2018/19).

SLCC also lays claim to international representatives George Bailey, Shaun Young and current Australian Bowling coach Adam Griffth (along with a host of First Class representatives) who were all products of the SLCC Junior Program and started their senior careers with the club before moving on to higher honours. Shaun returned to the club post his playing days to serve as president and Shaun, Adam and George still take a keen interest in how the Knights are going.

The off field culture at the club is strong with a family friendly and all inclusive eye to everything we do. Our playing has a good mix of both young and experienced players.

The club’s strength has always been its quality people and a season spent playing with the Knights in Tasmania’s north would be a season very well spent.

Areas of potential involvement for an interested overseas player;
• Junior team coaching/ youth development program
• Social committee
