OXFORD AND BLETCHINGTON NONDESCRIPTS CRICKET CLUB

OBNCC is one of the premier cricket clubs in Oxfordshire. Formed during the summer of 2002 it merges two of Oxfordshires oldest senior clubs, Oxford Nondescripts CC and Bletchington CC.

Situated to the north of Oxford, just off the city ring round, we have the use of two excellent club houses and cricket facilities, that at the Bletchington Sports Ground and at nearby Islip. Each Saturday, we run 3 sides in the Oxford Times Cherwell League. The Cherwell League is a forward thinking league that consists of 38 clubs across five counties: Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire and Oxfordshire. We will also be competing in the national Village knock out competition and some evening 20/20 cups. There will also be a midweek team in 2017, playing social matches on a Thursday evening as well as some friendly Sunday games.
The excellent facilities at Bletchington include 2 artificial practice wickets, a modern, well equipped club house with a bar which is open every night of the week and provides the clubs social base.
There are also junior sides that practice and play their home matches at the Bletchington ground. In the coming season we will run U11, U13 and U15 teams. There is a pathway from Oxfordshire Junior Cricket to the Sussex Academy for those of outstanding ability. Nondies are proud to report that one of the boys who recently passed through their youth teams has recently been accepted into this academy.
We also have a long tradition of welcoming overseas players. The majority of these have come from Sydney and Melbourne grade cricket, although we have had a few Kiwis as well. This has been a very successful programme which has offered a great personal development opportunity for the individuals involved and lead to long term friendships. We have had two former overseas players return for social visits this year alone.
The overseas will contribute by assisting with coaching the junior coaching programme.
Candidates must be UK or EU Passport Holders or eligible for a Youth Mobility Visa. If entering on such a visa must be U24 on the 1/9/2016.
