2019 has been another exciting season for Hailsham Cricket Club both on and off the field of play. The 1st XI were competing in the highest standard of cricket, in the club’s 135-year history. Although they were relegated on the last day of the season, there were loads of positives and areas that will make the players and club stronger in the future. The 3rd XI won division 10 on the last day of the season, to cap off a stellar season.
Development of our Junior sections continues to be real focus for our Club with over 150 juniors getting involved in training and matches. After introduction of the girls team last year, the squad has continued to grow this year enabling 2 girls’ teams to be fielded and 30 girls training on regular basis. Phase 1 of the Pavilion work was also completed this year, increasing the size of communal social area, kitchen and changing rooms. Alongside our beautiful second home at Roebuck it means we have functional, spacious and modern pavilions for our cricket teams which are also being enjoyed by our local community through very reasonably priced hire.
All these features combined to mean that Hailsham retained its ECB Clubmark status, highlighting Hailsham is a club which is ‘sustainable, well run and provides the right environment for its members.
