We are seeking an Overseas player for the 2019 season here in the UK. Due to visa requirements, we require someone who either holds either a British/EU passport or ancestry visa.
In the last two years, we have hosted a Kiwi called Jonathan Whitley from New Zealand who plays for Havelock North back home. Should anyone like to know more about the Club and individuals, our previous overseas will be more than happy to answer any questions.
The Club is based in Cheshire, a short 15-minute journey from Chester and less than an hour from Liverpool and Manchester. Alvanley CC has three senior teams, of which, the 1st XI play in Division 2 of the Cheshire County Cricket League. The 1st XI has finished 3rd and 5th in previous seasons (out of 12 teams) and is looking to push for promotion in 2019. The 1st XI have also made Quarter Final appearances in the Cheshire County League Twenty20 competition in the last two seasons, narrowly missing out on Finals Day last year.
The Club is also home to England women’s left arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone, who last year toured Australia in the women’s Ashes and most recently played in the Women’s World T20 out in the Caribbean.
Basic terms of arrangement for an overseas are as follows,
Reimbursement of flights
Paid accommodation for the first month
Work provided (coaching in schools currently lined up, ideally require a coaching qualification)
Free Club membership with playing kit provided
Alvanley CC are ideally looking for either a top order batsman or an opening bowler. An individual that is keen to be involved with the junior setup helping with coaching on Friday evenings.
