Andover CC are looking to resume their long standing tradition of bringing over a high quality overseas player following the COVID pandemic. We are a large, fun and sociable club in Hampshire, England who are looking to immediately bounce back into Division 1 of the Southern Premier Cricket League following relegation last year. The SPCL is one of the largest and highest quality ECB leagues in the UK and has attracted future stars such as Glen Maxwell, Travis Head, Adam Voges, Chris Rogers, George Worker, Chris Lynn, Luke Ronchi, Ryan Duffield and Jordan Silk. Our most recent overseas player was Chamika Karunaratne who has since played for Sri Lanka in all 3 formats, becoming a regular in the white-ball sides.
The club plays on an outstanding wicket, voted best ground in Hampshire in 2018 and runner-up each year since. It is quick and true, and offers some assistance to spin bowlers. Previous overseas players have found it to be a great introduction to English wickets.
We are prepared to support an overseas players travel, visa application and will source accommodation if necessary. League rules require overseas players to be an ECB Level 2 coach (or equivalent) and we would expect an overseas to be fully involved in supporting our Head Coach in delivering training sessions for our youth section on weekday afternoons/evening (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday) from May to July. Coaching will be renumerated according to experience.
We are a 40 minute train ride from central London and close to cities such as Winchester, Southampton and tourist hotspots such as Stonehenge (15 minute drive). We can also offer a free gym membership through a local sponsor.
If you are interested, please contact email@example.com. Please note our league rules prevent us from paying players to play.
